FINANCE COMMITTEE
The NASW LGBTQ Committee mission is to provide education, training and consultation concerning issues related to sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression, and other relevant human sexuality issues to social workers and other human services professionals. The NASW LGBTQ Committee currently meets on the second Tuesday of the month from 8-9AM. We convene via conference call. Please contact committee chair, Brandy Brown, at brandybrown@outlook.com for information about this committee.
Ethics Committee
The committee is a group of three or more NASW members appointed by the Chapter President, with the approval of Chapter Board Directors. The purpose is to promote social work ethics in collaboration with the national office and through local programs. We also support the National Professional Review process when needed. As members of the committee, we are not members of the board, and are committed to rigorous confidentiality, as well as the commitment to remain neutral, objective, and professional. Members participate in the National Ethics Committee Intake Subcommittee and assist with review of cases. We work with the Maine Chapter to initiate and provide educational programming for our state chapter members regarding ethics.
